If you were a poem
I’d never forget the words
If you were the flavor in my cup
I’d sip you slow
If you were a hand
I would keep holding tight
And you’d be the moon
If you were in the sky
Lighting up the darkness
No other like your kind
Your laugh, your language, your heartbeat
Grow more beautiful in time
And only in time my heart knows
What it means to love completely
It’s days, months, and years gone by
Yet still loving you deeply
I’ve felt the longest moments
Dreaming of hidden desires
As feelings unfold in lines
I wonder what keeps hearts inspired
But if I had the nerve
I’d let my heart overflow
With this poem the world would know
The truest story of my soul
