Say You Love Me

“Opening up your soul to someone, letting them into your spirit, thoughts, fears, future, hopes, dreams… That is being naked.” ~ Rob Bell”

I think people that were trained to deal with trauma are traumatized in a way. For some of us, it was our calling. Always the protector. Maybe our entire being is embedded in protecting what we love, so the idea of running into a fight to protect them is easy for us. We protect others even at our own expense. I’ve always been afraid of heights and losing someone but I’ve faced every single fear because it meant survival. It meant being there for someone. Some of us are stronger and maybe we’re here to save each other.

“Learning from experiences is one of the ways in which we decide if experience may frighten us, weaken us or make us self-doubt, but it may also make us stronger. Sankofa teaches there are valuable lessons to be learned from the past.”
